What it is
Stress load is the cumulative physiological and psychological demand you are carrying. It is not the same as a stressful day — it is what accumulates when demand outruns recovery for weeks.
What is currently understood
Chronic stress has well-documented effects on sleep, glucose regulation, immune function and cognition in human research. It shows up in wearable data before most people feel it.
What is not established
There is no single biomarker that captures stress, and consumer stress scores are directional at best. The subjective experience matters and resists quantification.
Regulatory status
Not applicable — this is a lifestyle and behaviour topic, not a regulated product.
How it comes up in coaching
We track stress load through sleep, HRV trends and honest conversation. Coaching is often the first place a client hears that the correct adjustment is to do less. Nothing here is a recommendation.
