What it is
Sermorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone. Rather than supplying growth hormone directly, it stimulates the body's own pituitary release. It has a longer regulatory history than most peptides discussed in longevity circles.
What is currently understood
It was previously an FDA-approved prescription drug and has a documented human pharmacology from that period. Its effects on growth hormone release are characterised.
What is not established
Evidence for anti-ageing or body-composition benefits in healthy adults is not established. Long-term outcomes of use for longevity purposes are unstudied.
Regulatory status
Was previously approved as a prescription drug in the United States and withdrawn for commercial rather than safety reasons. It remains available through compounding pharmacies with a valid prescription.
How it comes up in coaching
It comes up in sleep, recovery and body-composition conversations. Coaching addresses those goals through training, sleep and nutrition first, and any clinical decision belongs to a licensed provider. Nothing here is a recommendation.
This page is educational. It is not medical advice, not a recommendation, and not an offer to supply anything. Whether any intervention is appropriate for you is a decision for a licensed provider.
