Ipamorelin and CJC-1295

What it is

Ipamorelin and CJC-1295 are synthetic peptides that stimulate growth hormone release, often discussed together. They are among the most marketed compounds in the grey longevity market.

What is currently understood

Both have early-phase human research describing their effect on growth hormone release. That pharmacology is reasonably characterised.

What is not established

Safety and benefit in healthy adults over any meaningful duration are not established. Regulatory filings have specifically cited immunogenicity risk and reported serious adverse events for ipamorelin.

Regulatory status

Ipamorelin remains on the FDA's Category 2 bulk drug substances list for outsourcing facilities, cited for immunogenicity risk and reported serious adverse events. The CJC-1295 nomination was withdrawn from FDA review in April 2026. Neither is FDA-approved.

How it comes up in coaching

It comes up because it is marketed heavily. Coaching keeps the focus on sleep, training and recovery fundamentals and directs every clinical question to a licensed provider. Nothing here is a recommendation.

This page is educational. It is not medical advice, not a recommendation, and not an offer to supply anything. Whether any intervention is appropriate for you is a decision for a licensed provider.
