GHK-Cu

What it is

GHK-Cu is a copper-binding peptide that occurs naturally in human plasma. It is common in topical skincare products. Injectable use is a separate, far less studied question.

What is currently understood

Topical GHK-Cu has a modest literature in cosmetic dermatology, and it is a routine ingredient in over-the-counter skincare. Laboratory research has explored roles in skin remodelling.

What is not established

Injectable use in humans is not supported by adequate clinical trials. Safety, effects and long-term outcomes of injection are unestablished, and most claims generalise from topical or laboratory findings.

Regulatory status

Widely used in topical cosmetics. Injectable use is not approved by the FDA and is not an approved bulk drug substance for compounding in the United States.

How it comes up in coaching

It comes up in skin and visible-ageing conversations. Coaching focuses on the interventions with real evidence behind them and on taking product questions to a licensed provider. Nothing here is a recommendation.

This page is educational. It is not medical advice, not a recommendation, and not an offer to supply anything. Whether any intervention is appropriate for you is a decision for a licensed provider.
